The Oak Street School Replacement Project aims to transform and restore the school’s educational delivery along with the community’s pride. Located directly in the flight path to Los Angeles International Airport, environmental hazards unique to schools adjacent to airports, such as noise and fuel pollution, will be mitigated by replacing the school at a site approximately one mile east. The remodeled school will serve not only educational needs, but through “joint-use” provide exquisite athletic, library/media and theater arts to a community in the heart of a low socioeconomic neighborhood within Inglewood, California.
